Planning Your Fishing Excursion We want your
fishing trip to the Lake Erie Islands to be a memory that will bring you
back to Put-in-Bay year after year. We have several suggestions to help
you plan your day of fishing so it is enjoyable for everyone. First of all, we suggest you purchase your Ohio Fishing
License before leaving home if you do not already have one. You can
purchase a license at Wharfside here on Put-in-Bay, but the local store
is not always open early in the day and our charter trips generally
depart no later than 8 a.m. and some times as early as 7 a.m. You can
also
purchase your fishing license online.
Depending on your fishing package you may want to bring
bottled water, soft drinks, beer and a snack or lunch. If you're prone
to
seasickness
you might want to purchase some over the counter medication to relieve
your symptoms. Also if you have medication that you need, please
remember to bring it along.
Lake Erie can be unpredictable and we suggest you bring along a
jacket and some rain gear. It's also a good idea to bring a hat and
sunglasses and some sun tan lotion. Even on overcast days you need skin
protection from the UV rays.
Remember to wear soft sole shoes -- no work boots -- for your
comfort and safety.
